Sometimes while driving, I like to get lost on purpose and then use the gps to find my way home. I do the same thing with my spiritual life.

you know, except the gps is a bible.

Living at home

Living in dorms and apartments with teens and 20 somethings for 7 (give or take) years and back to the grind of regular life at home with the parents is DIFFERENT.

Pros:
It's quiet. No one's partying it up or puffing dragons next door keeping you from getting your 8.

The food is amazing. It just appears on the table and I have no idea how it got there. There's no menu, but it's usually pretty good.

Speaking Chinese and watching CCTV 24/7 on a regular basis. Cause, you know. The Chinese will rule the world someday.

Parents giving you advice packed with years of wisdom. Spending time with them has actually been entertaining.

Cons:
Spending 5 out of the 7 nights of the week listening to Chen Shui bien bashing, pandas, and how China's gonna take over the world

I haven't been able to cook food, so might lose the survival man skills gained over the years.

Having a curfew. I don't get disciplined or anything, they just give me funny looks, so I obey.

Parents repeating their advice over and over.

But I won't end on a low note. We just spent 3 hours looking up old home addresses on google maps... We got all freaked out when they saw the "street view" option. You get panoramic views as if you're there... and came to the conclusion that there must be a car that drives down the road with a camera that gets a 360 degree shot every couple feet. Plus my dad found his old stomping grounds back in Taiwan. He became all nostalgic and pointed out the temple they used to loiter around. Asians...

Merry Christmas!
